Welcome to the 2025–2026 School Year
Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
It is with great pleasure that I extend a warm welcome to all members of the BDHS community as we begin the 2025–2026 school year. We look forward to a year filled with meaningful learning, personal growth, and active engagement.
We are committed to fostering excellence and promoting student well-being, and encourage all students to find where they can become involved in the many extracurricular activities we offer. To stay connected with school events and activities, we invite all to view the school announcements message posted to our website, and sent to student email accounts each day. Students are also encouraged to view the activities calendar located outside the main office, where details for all upcoming gatherings, events and try-outs are displayed. We have a number of exciting opportunities available, and all are welcome to be a part of the great things happening at BDHS.
We value the partnership we share with families and the community, and our staff look forward to providing a supportive, enriching, and engaging environment for everyone. We welcome your participation in school activities and always invite your feedback and collaboration. We are delighted to begin a new year of opportunity and growth, and are committed to working together to support student success.
Yours sincerely,
Heather Lagace
Principal
School Council Nominations For 2025-26 School Year
Each year, parents/guardians of our school are offered the opportunity to nominate themselves to be candidates for the Bradford District High School School Council. A School Council is a committee made up of elected parents/guardians, community representatives, staff, and students who help to provide the community voice and parent/guardian perspective on important school topics. School Council is a good way for parents/guardians to get involved in their student’s education while playing an important role in the partnership between home and school. We invite you to join our School Council and attend the first meeting of the year on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 6 PM in the school library. This is a great opportunity to share ideas, collaborate with others, and make a positive impact on our school community.
If you wish to be a member of the School Council, linked below is a nomination form. In addition to this form, also included below is a document outlining the roles and responsibilities of a school council member. Please return the completed nomination form to [email protected] (attention school administration) or in person by 4:00 pm Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Depending upon the number of nomination forms, we may be required to have an election. Elections will be held at the September 29th meeting.
All parents are invited to attend School Council meetings even they do not wish to be a voting member.
We look forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming meeting and working together for a successful school year!

Student Medical Information
If you have a student with a prevalent (life-threatening) medical condition that requires medication (i.e. Asthma, Anaphylactic Allergy, Epilepsy, Diabetes, etc.) your student may require board/school forms that need to be completed each school year.
- The Student Medical Form (SMF) and Plan of Care Form (POC) (condition specific) should be up to date at all times.
- The SMF is good for two school years if no changes are required. At the start of the second year, we will require a signature claiming it's up to date.
- The POC form needs to be updated each year.
- Both forms need to be completed in detail and signed by a medical practitioner.
- Please refer to the attached forms and, if applicable to your student, have them completed and returned as soon as possible.

From the BDHS Math Department: Calculator Purchase Option
For secondary math and science courses, a calculator is an important piece of equipment. It is recommended that students invest in a calculator that will complete all necessary functions for their math education, from Grade 9 to Grade 12. The model of calculator that we recommend students become familiar with is the CASIO fx-300MS, which has all the necessary tools and functions for a student to engage with every math and science course in the Ontario curriculum. Please note that this calculator is an optional purchase, and not mandatory.
For convenience, the math department is able to purchase these calculators for students who are interested. Should you wish to take advantage of this opportunity for your student, please complete the form on SchoolCashOnline and the math department will place an order to provide your student with a calculator this semester, purchased at cost through Staples for $18.65. Should you be interested, we would ask that orders be placed by end of day on Wednesday September 17th.
