1.     The Smash Brothers tournament is in it’s final rounds. The quarterfinal games will be starting today. All spectators are welcome! The games will be in room 243 and all are welcome! Come cheer and support your peers!

2.     Attention Grade 11 and 12 students who think money is important:  Last year’s BDHS senior students identified that a need exists for more learning about money and personal finance.  In response to the request from our students, the BDHS coop and business departments have partnered with local banks and business to bring you a variety of Lunch and Learn opportunities as well as a couple of evening learning sessions.  Two days ago, all grade 11 and 12 students were sent a survey link to their school email. Now is the time to respond. In order to move ahead with booking times and food, we need your responses right away.  Please open your email, check out the link, and let us know!  Sufficient numbers of replies are needed to make these sessions happen. Please do it today!  Thank you,

3.     Did you know that 1 in 5 students will struggle with a mental health concern that affects them at school, at home or in the community?  Although we wish it were not the case, suicide is a reality for our young people. Experts tell us that as many as 70% of Canadian high school students have thoughts about it. It is the second leading cause of death for youth between the ages of 15 and 24.  Did you also know that if you become a SafeTALK trained helper, you will learn how to make a quick connection to local supports who are trained in this line of work? This is an opportunity to gain knowledge for yourself or to assist others.  Training will take place on Thursday May 9th here at BDHS. There are 30 spots available for this training.
If you are interested in more information, please see Mrs A-P in Rm 107 during
lunch to pick up a permission form. Permission forms will also be available in
