Attention Graduating Grade 12s or new semester
2 students, if you need your picture taken, please come down to the main office
and sign up. The pictures are being
taken on February 25, 2019.
Just a reminder for students with a period 1
spare, please come to the main office to get your timetable.
On Saturday, the senior girls’ volleyball team
travelled south across Highway 88 to play in the annual Holy Trinity
tournament. Playing shorthanded with
only 8 girls, our Bucs got off to a slow start splitting their opening game
with St. Pete’s from Barrie. After the
rust was off from the exam lay-off, the Senior Girls rallied off straight set
victories against Le Caron, St. Thomas Aquinas, before handling the host Holy
Trinity Tigers to win their pool with a 7 and 1 record. In the final, our Bucs played a solid game
but came out on the short end against a strong St. Pete’s school in a rematch
from the morning. Coach Wilson was
extremely proud of the girls and their resilience throughout the day playing so
shorthanded. Coach Amy was also
impressed, and looks forward to practice tonight after school as they prepare
for their final home game this week against Barrie North. Great job girls!
The ski team is reminded of their
race at Osler on Wednesday this week. Meet at the school for 6:45 am.
We are expanding our Tuesday
Bridge club to a Card club that includes many different card games...come out
to room 123 starting on Tuesday, January 19 in room 123 to play some
card games you know, including Bridge with Richard, and learn new card
games you don't know.
Chess club is now meeting on
Thursdays, starting in 2 weeks on February 21. Chess players of all
levels are welcome to join us in room 123 on Thursdays at lunch.
Do you still have any books from
our Learning Commons? If so, please return them ASAP so other students
can use them this semester.
There will be a Jr Girls volleyball practice
today after school.
Just a reminder to members of art
club (old and new!) that we meet promptly at 2:35 pm to work with our
facilitator from the Maclaren Art center this week after school. Our exciting Sergeant
cement project should last about an hour after school. Ms. Stec will
return this afternoon and is looking forward to seeing everyone there. Bring
