Attention all athletes looking to continue to try out for the Junior Girls volleyball team. A reminder that tryouts continue today at lunch in the large gym.  Please be dressed in proper gym attire and ready to go for 10:45.

Do you know what the 2S at the beginning of the 2SLGBTQ+ acronym stands for? It stands for Two-Spirit. Before the Europeans came to North America, Two-Spirit referred to an ancient teaching. Elders say that they were people who carried two spirits, that of male and female. They were seen as very spiritually powerful and were honoured. Today, Two-Spirit people are Native people who are queer, transgender, and gender non-conforming, that walk carefully between the worlds and between the genders. Due to colonization, Two-Spirit communities and identities have been lost. It is believed that when Two-Spirit people are brought back to their respective places, the world will begin massive healing of spirit.

All remaining student activity cards will be handed out today in the foyer at lunch. Please bring proof of your purchase.

·       The Ontario Schools Cricket Association (OSCA) is offering an exciting creative competition for Ontario elementary and secondary school students: an essay contest entitled "The Crown, Cricket, and Canada."

Through this essay contest, OSCA aims to touch on all aspects of wellness (physical, mental, and social); inviting students to exercise their academic skills while also becoming more aware of sport and physical activity.  Those who submit a top essay will receive official recognition from the Premier of Ontario, and prize money of $3,000 will be awarded to the winner(s). For more information, go to or see Ms. Sparks in the Learning Commons.
